About BSDS
Background Information of The Organization:
Basundhara Social Development Society in short BSDS was founded 1995 and started its activities from that very year. The organization is one of the numerous non-government organizations in Bangladesh but distinct in its activities. Since 1998 the organization has dedicated all its efforts to bring a qualitative change in the life of the disadvantaged, underprivileged and the vulnerable people. As a modest complementary force of development the role of BSDS is quite bright and it has a long-standing experience in the development sector of Bangladesh. In continuation of its commitment BSDS has devoted itself to the socio-economic development of the disadvantaged people that constitute the bulk of community. To the development components of BSDS are reflected through group approach, such components are: Education, Health, Water & Sanitation, Forestry, Agriculture, Income Generating Actives (IGA) through various training program, protection of environmental degradation.
BSDS functions through an Executive Committee headed by a President. The General body of the members elects them after every two years. The development activities of the organization administered by an Executive Director. A Group of the organization has been involved in shaping a long-term framework for the organization’s future direction and laying the groundwork for renewal. At the heart of the resulting Strategic Compact lies the objective of increased development impact to reduce poverty more effectively. Effectiveness is being increased through more attention to social and environmental sustainability

Vision of BSDS :
The vision of Basundhara Social Development Society (BSDS) is envisages a Bangladesh society which is economically productive and equitable socially just, environmentally sound and genuinely democratic.
Mission of BSDS :
The Mission of Basundhara Social Development Society (BSDS) is to conduct extensive and intensive participatory sustainable development process through empowerment of the poor.
Goal of BSDS :
The goal of Basundhara Social Development Society (BSDS) is to establish a gender equity based society and to bring an end to discrimination, abuse and violence against women. Ensure sustainable development of women and the under-privileged.

Effectiveness is being increased through more attention to social and environmental sustainability. The groundwork for refocusing the development agenda already has begun, through building and strengthening staff capacities.
